There are two convenient ways to get Kyoto from Kansai Airport: JR Airport Express Haruka and limousine bus. Although both are good ways, Haruka is a little faster (75min vs. 85min) but a little more expensive (3,280JPY vs. 2,500JPY) than the limousine bus.
JR Airport Express Haruka departs from JR Kansai Airport station, which is located next to the airport terminal as shown in the figure below. The brief information about Haruka Express is below:

You can buy a ticket from automatic ticket machines nearby the ticket gate, or at the ticket counter of JR Kansai Airport station. You may select either a reserved seat or a non-reserved seat. Haruka express has a place for storing large bags at each train car.
